Programmes & Courses > Undergraduate Studies BA in Theology and Ministry The BA programme has three awards: Certificate, Diploma and BA Degree and has been designed primarily for people who want to study Theology and Ministry in an ecumenically open but faith-based context. It caters both for students who have completed studies recently at school or college but also for adults returning to learning in their later years including those who may not have achieved sufficient qualifications to go on to higher education when leaving full-time education. Full learning support is given to all students through tutorials and small classes and lecture groups. Starting with the level One course (Certificate level) students may progress onto the level two (Diploma level) or level three (BA Degree level, with or without Honours) provided that they satisfy the normal requirements to study further and are fully committed to it. Each level of the programme is validated by the University of Bristol from whom students receive the appropriate award. The programme is delivered by the College's tutors who include Methodists, Anglicans, Roman Catholics and Baptists with occasional contributions by staff from the nearby University of Bristol and the University of the West of England. Members of the student body usually include representatives from all these denominations as well as from other Christian groups such as the Salvation Army, the United Reformed and the Pentecostal Churches. Together with the Methodist sponsored students, they form the College community. Wesley’s curriculum is open to full-time and part-time, residential and non-residential students. Some teaching takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings or on a Saturday in order to make the curriculum as widely available as possible.
