Revd Dr Jonathan Pye Jonathan was educated at The Cowley School, Durham and Cambridge. As a Methodist Minister he has worked as a Chaplain in prisons, hospitals and universities. Before returning to Bristol in 2001, Jonathan was a lecturer in Theology and Healthcare at the University of Leeds. During his time as chaplain and lecturer he co-authored the MA in Healthcare Chaplaincy and MA (Independent Practice) Nursing; he was a member of the Ethics and Law Core Team in the University of Leeds Medical School; he was also Deputy Chair of the Ethics Committee in the Faculty of Health and Social Care at Leeds Metropolitan University, a member of the Executive Committee and Steering Group of the Leeds Bereavement Forum, and a member of the Faith and Order Committee of the Methodist Church UK.

Currently Principal of Wesley College, Bristol, Jonathan is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Bristol Bereavement Forum.

He has lectured in the UK, Australia, Canada and Korea, and his publications include, 'Dementia: A Challenge to Care' (Australia: Blue Nursing Services, 1997) , articles and reviews in journals including BJMed. and Psychol. His doctorate was about the responses of families and their carers to pre-natal, peri-natal and neo-natal deaths.
