Applications & Fees > The Ronald Spivey Bequest
Wesley College is pleased to offer an Annual Bursary in memory of the late Rev Dr Ronald Spivey MA. Dr Spivey was a Methodist Minister who gave distinguished service to the Church. Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge and Wesley House, he served in a number of appointments in the UK, including Wesley's Chapel London and Hinde Street Methodist Church. He also served in Zimbabwe before taking up teaching appointments at the United Theological College, Bangalore and St. Paul's College, Limuru in Kenya. The bursary, of up to £800 p.a. is available for students from the World Church applying to study at Wesley College, Bristol. Applicants must be members of the Methodist Church or a denomination with which the Methodist Church is associated or in union and applications must be supported by a letter of recommendation from a Methodist Church or a body with which the Methodist Church is associated (e.g. a Theological College). Priority will be given to those in or preparing for presbyteral, diaconal or other recognised ministries within the Methodist Church or related denominations.
