General Information > Studying at Wesley College Although Wesley College was established to prepare people for ordained ministry in the Methodist Church, and this is still a significant part of its work, the College programme today is much more widely based. The College is a resource for equipping the ministry of the whole people of God. The teaching staff come from a wide range of Christian backgrounds. Those training for ordination work alongside students from a variety of church traditions wanting to develop their Christian discipleship, bringing a wider experience of life into the learning environment. Tutorials Every student at Wesley College has a personal tutor. Tutors meet informally with students on a regular basis. Every student has two formal tutorials per term, to discuss academic matters as well as their general welfare. The tutorial system is tailored to students' individual needs and to their particular programmes of study. For students training for ordination the tutorial relationship forms a key part of their vocational discernment process and their formation for ordained ministry. Worship
Community and Pastoral Care At Wesley College we take our commitment to Christian community seriously. Students, staff and families all belong to the College community. There is a weekly community day, when most part-time students are in College and includes a weekly community meeting. Each term there is a community meal in the evening. Everyone is encouraged to take responsibility within the life of the College. A number of social events are organised each term. Accommodation
